The Oakridge Eagles varsity boys’ soccer team opened conference play on Tuesday night hosting the Whitehall Vikings. The Eagles got out to a 2-goal lead on a corner kick by Mason Wever in the 22nd minute. Then followed that up with a free kick goal by Bayly Ehnen in the 28th minute. The Vikings responded with a goal in the 37th minute. This made the score 2-1 Oakridge heading into the half. The second half was delayed for 30 minutes by lightning in the 53rd minute. When play resumed, the Vikings tied the game with a goal in the 57th minute. The game was delayed again by weather in the 63rd minute. The game was called from there due to the weather. Making the final score Oakridge 2 and Whitehall 2. The Eagles are now 2-0-2 on the season and 0-0-1 in West Michigan Conference play. They next travel to the Hanover-Horton Invitational on Saturday 9/8.
