Oakridge High School
The Eagles made their annual trip to Hanover-Horton for their Invitational this past weekend. They ended up finishing 2nd to Hillsdale after losing to them in an exciting shootout.
Game one was against Leslie High School and the Eagles came out fast scoring two goals in the first half by Dean Tibbs off an assist from Bayly Ehnen and then Dylan Lucas scored off an assist from Jared Holter. Leslie came storming back in the 2nd half to tie the game 2-2 and send it to a shootout. In the shootout Brenden Thiele, Jared Holter, Bayly Ehnen and Nathan Barber converted while Brandon Jones saved two shots to secure the win for the Eagles.
Game two was against the host Hanover-Horton and the Eagles got an unassisted goal from Brenden Thiele to take a lead they would not surrender this time. This goal was followed up by two goals by Glenn May, one assisted by Jared Holter and the other was unassisted, giving the Eagles the 3-0 victory. The back line of Barber, Holter, Isiac Dailey and Mason Wever did not allow a shot on goal for the shutout.
In the final game the Eagles played a good Hillsdale squad. Trailing 1-0 at halftime they were able to tie the game on Dean Tibbs second goal of the day off an assist from Bayly Ehnen. With a couple good opportunities late to take the lead they were not able to convert. Going to the Shootout once again. This time Brenden Thiele, Jared Holter and Nathan Barber converted but Hillsdale was able to convert one more to get the win.
